Grassroots Action Toolkit

The Grassroots Action Toolkit is about spreading information and tools that citizens can use to focus their energy for change in the world. Whether it's for the issues covered in Oil on Ice or something closer to your home, within these pages are fact sheets, tips, guides, resources and links that you can use to get active.

Recent Updates:

This year President Bush has again included money from oil leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in his proposed budget. President Bush's declaration that "America is addicted to oil" means little without a significant commitment to renewable energy sources now.

We need your help to spread the word and help educate your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. A fun and friendly way to do this is by hosting an "Oil on Ice" house party. For information on hosting House Parties and to see updates about issues and discussion topics please go to our House Party page.

Winning the Oil Endgame

This independent, peer-reviewed synthesis published by the Rocky Mountain Institute for American business and military leaders charts a roadmap for getting the United States completely, attractively, and profitably off oil. The strategy integrates four technological ways to displace oil: using oil twice as efficiently, then substituting biofuels, saved natural gas, and, optionally, hydrogen.

Each of the area has been updated with sample letters to aid you in telling your elected officials how you feel.

"Moving, lucid and aptly told, Oil on Ice
is quite simply the best documentary
to date on the [Arctic National Wildlife Refuge] issue."
